Good riddance to another piece of trash career criminal Anthony Nelson. Even better than natural selection is when a thug criminal dies when a victim goes on the defensive to save his own life. Anthony Nelson, 29, was up to no good trying to break into an 80 year old’s house late one night in May.

The intruder, like Mayor Daley, believed that the homeowner would follow the idiotic and unconstitutional gun ban Daley set forth, so it would be an easy robbery and perhaps murder with no way for the elderly man to defend himself. Unknown to Nelson, the homeowner did purchase a weapon 6 months ago (presumably from out of state, or at least outside of Chicago) after he was mugged. He promised to never fall victim to these criminals again.

As the intruder, Anthony Nelson, couldn’t open the door, he fired one shot into the bedroom. Shortly thereafter the homeowner returned fire and killed the intruder. If the elderly homeowner would have followed the moronic gun ban in Chicago, he, his wife, his son and his grandson would all likely be dead today, and the intruder may likely be on the loose.

The US Supreme Court is hearing a case brought by several Chicago homeowners, as well as the NRA, to overturn Chicago’s long time handgun ban. It appears that the ban will be overturned by the US Supreme Court within a few weeks. After that happens, Mayor Daley has already promised “Whatever the details of the court’s ruling will be, we will always find new ways to keep guns off our streets”. Here is the Mayor of the 3rd largest city in the US, and he is stating that he will find a way to continue to keep the law abiding citizens in his city oppressed victims of criminals.

Mayor Daley is clearly on the criminals’ side. The only people who follow “gun bans” is the people who you don’t have to worry about having guns. The only people who have guns is the murderers, rapists, burglars, and robbers.

In 2008, there were 511 murders in Chicago. Did the criminals care about breaking some “handgun ban” or did they simply want to sexually assault, brutally beat, and murder their victims? They did not care about the law telling them they cannot own a gun. Absent Chicago’s ban of legally owned handguns, many of those victims could be alive today. Victims who were brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons daughters, teachers, police officers and many other walks of life. They are now dead because of Mayor Daley.

The sooner Mayor Daley and others realize that gun bans and restrictions only apply to the peaceful citizens, and not the criminals, the sooner we will begin creeping back towards a safer country where people are allowed to protect their life, their liberty and their personal property.
